From housekeeping not showing up until 2:30 even though we called for it 3 times, to awful service at the pool, to a broken (and dirty) hot tub, to cold food at breakfast and putting us in a room on the bottom floor right next to construction despite me calling ahead and asking for a quiet room. In 2023, when you drive up, instead of a few elegant hotel-owned SUVs parked out front, there is now a fleet of 4-5 giant shuttle busses greeting you. The founder’s hands-on fingerprints of perfection and experience were everywhere. In 2010, when we started coming here, the Montage chain had only three locations and there was no Pendry division.
